2013 is looking like a very special year for Scott. With 6 podiums, including 2
wins, the MarcVDS Moto2 rider is very much the man on form. With a level head and
even more consistent scoring this could be his year!
We still have a selection of Scott’s original merchandise left at special prices.
Not all sizes available, so do check. These could well turn into collectors items.
Scott won his first geared-bike championship in 2004; the FAB-Racing MiniGP British
Championship when he was just 11. In Spain the following year he won every race
of the Calypso Cup 80cc Championship, beating a certain Maverick Viñales into second
place! Following this very impressive showing he was invited into the MotoGP Academy
where he rode a Honda GP125 machine in the CEV (the Spanish National Championship)
finishing 7th overall. Remember he was still only 13 years of age. In 2007 he joined
the BQR Blu-Sens team riding an Aprilia GP125 to ride again in the CEV Championship
and, once freed from team orders, he won the last 3 races finishing second overall.
The suitably impressed BQR team then set young Scott onto a full season of GPs, a
season that saw him finish 4th in his first ever GP in Qatar losing out to a podium
by just 10ths of a second and, just seven rounds later, winning the British Grand
Prix at Donington thus becoming the youngest ever GP winner. What an incredible
day that was!!
